Part 11
The Updated Jewelry Rule started in the 2023-24 Season. Especially note regarding piercings “The wearing of jewelry by players is addressed in a change to Rule 4-1-7, which now states that all jewelry must be removed, except small, secured studs or posts worn above the chin. No jewelry is permitted below the chin, including string bracelets, commemorative bracelets, and body jewelry. In addition, taping over jewelry is not permitted. This rules change aligns high school rules with NCAA rules on the wearing of jewelry.” (See paragraphs 5-6 at: https://www.osaa.org/docs/vbl/2023%20volleyball%20rule%20changes.pdf (click on to access)
Part 13
Spartan Sportsmanship
Spartan Volleyball takes pride in respecting our officials. We expect our coaches, players, parents and spectators to always show respect for our officials and support staff. Please read OAOA's Former Associate Executive Director Debi Hanson's short article “The Little Things” at page 6 in:https://www.oregoncoach.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/2017-SPRING-NEWSLETTER.pdf (Click on to access)
We might disagree with an official's call but we should always show respect for our officials.
Part 14
Scorekeeping / Libero Tracker
Players will be required to keep scoring details and to track liberos at tournaments. To learn how to do Scorekeeping the below Scorekeeping link is best viewed on a computer screen, which will show the whole score sheet (shows both team boxes at the same time). Otherwise, when viewing on your phone, since the print is still small after you enlarge the print you cannot see both team's boxes at the same time and you will need to move your screen from side to side in order to see both teams information... If you view on your phone it helps to have your phone in the horizontal position. It may be best to print the forms out...may have to export as a PDF to print.

Fundraising
Bottle Fundraiser: Contact Coach Jim (coachlubischer@gmail.com) to get our bottle drive Blue Bags. Simply collect recyclable bottles and cans, place in the Blue Bags and deposit at any bottle collection receptacle.
Concessions at Home Matches: See Part 16 below.
Need to add in Banners with local businesses.
Part 16
Concessions at Home Matches
At our home matches we ask parents and players to help staff our concessions stand. When the JV & JV2 matches are being played we need 2 Varsity parents and 2-3 Varsity players to staff concessions. During the Varsity match we need 2 parents and 2-3 players from the JV - JV2 teams to staff concessions. If you can help that would be great! Please let your coach know what dates you can help.
Part 17 PARTICIPATION FEES: Students who participate in the interscholastic athletic program shall pay a participation fee to partially defray expenses of the athletic programs. Athletic Fees are $200 per season. Activity Fees are $150 per season. Per sport/activity maximum participation fees are $400 per student or $800 per family for the current school year. Students who qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program may be granted a fee waiver/reduction. The HSD encourages all students to participate and will assist if financial concerns are a barrier to participation. Per sport/activity maximum amounts do not apply to lacrosse, golf or tennis. All fees must be paid in full by the last day of the season for each sport. Your student will not be permitted to participate in any additional sport with an outstanding balance. If you are unable to meet the final payment date, you must call the school to make payment arrangements. WAIVERS AND REFUNDS: Waivers will be handled by building athletic coordinators under the direction of the building principal. The Waiver Request Form, signed by the parents, will simply indicate the family is unable to pay. Each request will be reviewed and acted upon by the building principal. Prorated refunds will be available only when participation is ended due to no fault of the student. The district athletic director will establish refund schedules for each sport. https://www.hsd.k12.or.us/departments/athleticsactivities/hs-athletics/participation-fees
